The Trump rescheduling marijuana timeline has become a major federal policy development with potential implications for research, healthcare, and regulated industries such as trucking. In December 2025, the White House directed federal agencies to accelerate the process of moving marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule III while expanding medical marijuana and cannabidiol research.
