GET STARTED: Open Custom Content
From the main navigation menu, select Custom Content.
The Custom Content dashboard gives you two primary views: Content and Courses. Use Content to manage individual training items and Courses to organize related content into complete training courses.
You can also search existing content, filter records, review course assignments, and identify content that may still be missing a quiz.
STEP 1: Create a Course if Needed
Select the Courses tab to view the courses already available within your organization.
If you need a new course, select Add Course and enter the requested course information.
A course acts as the container for one or more related pieces of training content. For example, a company could create a course covering a specific safety procedure and include several videos, documents, or other training items within that course.
If the content you are uploading belongs to an existing course, you can skip creating a new one.
STEP 2: Add New Content
Return to the Content tab and select Add Content.
This begins the process of creating a new piece of Custom Training Content.
Each content item represents an individual training resource that will be placed inside one of your courses.
STEP 3: Select a Course
Choose the course where the new content belongs.
You can search the available courses, select the appropriate course, and then choose Continue.
Assigning the content to the correct course keeps related training resources organized together and makes them easier to manage later.
STEP 4: Enter the Content Details
Enter a clear Content Name and Description for the training item.
You can also choose whether the content should currently be Active or Inactive.
These are global content details and apply across the language versions associated with the content.
Use a specific, descriptive content name so managers can easily identify the training when reviewing courses, assignments, and training records.
STEP 5: Choose the Training Language
Under Upload Media, select the language for the content you are uploading.
The current system shown here includes English, Spanish, French, and Polish language options.
It is important to choose the correct language before continuing. The system indicates that the selected language cannot be changed after the content has been saved.
Additional language versions can be added to content when applicable.
STEP 6: Select the Media Type
Choose the Media Type that matches the training material you are adding.
The updated system includes options such as streaming video, PDF documents, YouTube content, Quiz Only, and SCORM.
Selecting the correct media type determines how the training material will be uploaded or delivered within the system.
For uploaded video content, VIDEO (STREAMING) is identified within the system as the preferred option for delivering video.
STEP 7: Select Your Training File
For uploaded streaming video, select Choose File and locate the training video on your computer.
Enter the duration of the video when requested and verify the language and Version Status.
The system automatically generates the Version Number.
Before continuing, verify that the selected file, language, media type, and duration are correct.
STEP 8: Review the Content and Upload
Review the information you have entered before uploading the training material.
Confirm the Content Name, Description, language, media type, selected file, duration, and Version Status.
When everything is correct, select Upload.
Taking a few seconds to verify these settings is especially important because certain information, including the language selection, may be locked after the content has been saved.
STEP 9: Allow the File to Upload and Process
Keep the browser open while your file is uploading.
The Training Management System displays the upload progress so you can monitor the transfer.
After the upload is complete, the content may temporarily show a Pending status while the system finishes processing the file.
Use the refresh-status control associated with the content version to check its current processing status.
Larger files and slower internet connections may require additional processing time.
STEP 10: Add a Quiz
Open the newly created content record and locate the language version under Upload Media.
The content record displays information including the language, processing status, media type, quiz status, content version, and Version ID.
If the Quiz column displays Missing, select Add Quiz.
A quiz allows your organization to verify that employees understood the training rather than simply confirming that the material was opened or viewed.
STEP 11: Create a New Quiz or Attach an Existing Quiz
The updated system gives you the option to Create New Quiz or use an existing quiz when an eligible quiz is already available.
Choose Create New Quiz when you need to create questions specifically for the training content.
If an appropriate language quiz already exists and the system makes it available, you can attach that quiz instead of rebuilding it.
Select Continue to proceed to Quiz Management.
STEP 12: Build Your Quiz Questions
The Quiz Management screen allows you to enter your question and create the available answer choices.
Enter the question in the Question Text field and add the desired answer options.
Select the checkbox next to the correct answer or answers.
You can also control the order in which questions appear using Display Order. Lower numbers are displayed first.
When the question is complete, select Save Question.
The updated system also allows images to be attached to questions and answers after the question has been saved.
STEP 13: Use Quick Add for Different Response Types
Quiz Management includes several Quick Add options that make it easier to create different types of questions and confirmations.
Available options include Answer, True/False, Yes/No, Acknowledgement, and E-Signature.
Standard Answer can be used to create your own response choices. True/False and Yes/No quickly create common response formats.
Acknowledgement can be useful when an employee needs to confirm that information has been reviewed or understood.
E-Signature provides an additional response option when a signed acknowledgement is appropriate for the training.
Save each question after you have finished configuring it.
YOUR CUSTOM TRAINING CONTENT IS READY
Once the media has finished processing and the quiz has been completed, review the content record one final time.
Confirm that the correct language version is active, the media has processed successfully, and the quiz is attached.
Your company-specific training content can now become part of your organization’s training and assignment workflow.
Because the training is stored within the INFINITI Fleet Safety Training system, managers can maintain company-specific educational materials alongside the rest of their safety training program.
Why Use Custom Training Content?
Every company has policies, equipment, procedures, and operational expectations that cannot always be covered by general industry training.
Custom Training Content allows safety managers to combine INFINITI’s professional training resources with information specific to their own organization.
Companies can use custom content for onboarding, company policies, equipment procedures, accident-response expectations, internal safety requirements, and other organization-specific training.
Combining this content with quizzes, acknowledgements, and training records provides a more consistent way to communicate expectations and document employee training.
Build Training Around the Way Your Company Actually Operates
The goal of Custom Training Content is not simply to store videos and documents. It gives companies a way to transform their own knowledge, policies, and procedures into structured training that can be consistently delivered and documented.
As procedures change, companies can update their training resources and continue using the Training Management System to keep employees informed.
This allows your organization to combine standardized safety education with the company-specific training employees need to perform their jobs safely and consistently.

FAQs
What is Custom Training Content, and how does it help trucking companies?
Custom Training Content allows trucking companies to create and manage training materials that address their specific policies, equipment, and operational procedures. Using INFINITI Fleet Safety Training, organizations can add instructional videos, documents, and quizzes to their existing safety training program.
For example, a carrier might develop training covering company-specific inspection procedures, yard safety rules, or accident reporting requirements. These materials can be organized into courses and assigned to the employees who need them.
By combining company-created resources with INFINITI’s existing training library, fleets can deliver more relevant instruction, monitor employee progress, and maintain training records within one centralized Training Management System.
What types of training content can companies add to the INFINITI platform?
The updated INFINITI Training Management System supports several content types, including streaming video, PDF documents, YouTube videos, quiz-only training, and SCORM packages. This flexibility allows companies to choose the format that best communicates the information employees need to understand.
For example, safety managers can upload an instructional video demonstrating an equipment procedure or provide a PDF containing company policies and operating instructions. Quiz-only content offers another way to check employee knowledge without requiring a separate instructional video.
Each training item can be organized into a course and paired with assessment questions. Managers can also create language-specific content versions to accommodate different employee training needs.
How do I create a custom training course in INFINITI Fleet Safety Training?
Creating a course begins in the Custom Content section of the Training Management System. Select the Courses tab and choose Add Course to establish a new course. After creating the course, return to the Content tab and select Add Content to begin adding training materials.
The system allows managers to choose an existing course, enter content details, select a language, and choose the appropriate media type. Once the training material has been uploaded and processed, a quiz can be attached.
Courses may contain multiple pieces of training content, allowing companies to organize related procedures and safety topics into a structured learning experience for employees.
Are quizzes required for custom training assignments?
Yes. Under INFINITI’s documented custom training workflow, content must have an associated quiz before it can be assigned as training. Quizzes help managers verify employee understanding rather than relying solely on whether someone opened a document or watched a video.
The updated system allows administrators to create a new quiz or attach an existing eligible quiz. Questions can reinforce safety procedures, company policies, and important operational requirements.
Quiz results also provide useful information for identifying employees who may need additional instruction. By combining training materials with assessments, fleets can establish a more consistent process for verifying comprehension and documenting their employee education efforts.
Can custom driver training help reduce accidents and safety violations?
Company-specific driver training can help address safety risks that are unique to a fleet’s equipment, routes, and daily operations. Instead of relying entirely on general industry instruction, safety managers can develop lessons covering recurring incidents, unsafe behaviors, and company procedures.
For example, a carrier may create targeted training addressing backing accidents, distracted driving, cargo securement, or vehicle inspections. Employees receive information directly related to the situations they encounter on the job.
Although training alone cannot guarantee fewer accidents or violations, consistent instruction can reinforce safer decisions. Quizzes and completion records also help managers identify knowledge gaps and determine where additional coaching may be beneficial.
How does custom training help trucking companies communicate and enforce safety policies?
Custom training gives trucking companies a structured way to communicate policies and document that employees received the information. Instead of distributing instructions only through emails, printed handbooks, or verbal meetings, managers can create courses explaining company rules and operational expectations.
For example, a fleet may upload its accident reporting procedures, vehicle inspection requirements, or employee safety handbook. The information can be assigned to appropriate employees and accompanied by quizzes or acknowledgements.
Training records help managers track participation and identify employees who may need follow-up instruction. This approach supports consistent communication while giving companies documentation of their efforts to explain and reinforce workplace policies.
How long does it take to upload and process custom training materials?
The time required to upload training materials depends primarily on file size, internet upload speed, and the type of content being added. Smaller files generally transfer faster than large instructional videos.
The updated INFINITI platform displays upload progress while files are being transferred. After the upload finishes, certain media types may require additional processing before they become available for training. Managers can review the content status and use the available refresh option to check processing progress.
This workflow allows companies to add new policies, safety videos, and instructional resources without developing an entirely new training platform. Administrators should verify that processing is complete before assigning newly uploaded content.
Can small trucking fleets benefit from Custom Training Content?
Yes. Small trucking fleets often have many of the same training responsibilities as larger carriers but fewer administrative resources available to manage them. Custom Training Content allows smaller companies to organize important policies and procedures without building an entirely separate learning system.
A small carrier might create courses covering driver orientation, vehicle inspections, accident reporting, or equipment-specific procedures. These materials can be reused when onboarding employees or reinforcing company expectations.
Centralized assignments and training records can also reduce reliance on paper documents, spreadsheets, and repeated in-person explanations. For fleets with limited administrative staff, this provides a practical way to maintain consistent training and improve organization.
How can custom training improve the onboarding process for new drivers?
Custom training helps trucking companies establish a consistent onboarding process by giving new drivers access to the same company-specific information. Instead of relying entirely on individual supervisors to explain procedures, fleets can develop standardized courses covering their operational requirements.
These courses might include company safety policies, accident reporting procedures, dispatch communication, equipment operation, and workplace expectations. Training materials can be organized into a structured program that new employees complete during orientation.
INFINITI also supports language-specific content versions, allowing companies to provide training materials in supported languages. Quizzes help verify understanding, while completion records give managers documentation of the training each new employee received.
How can employee training records help after an accident or legal claim?
Employee training records can provide valuable documentation when a trucking company reviews an accident, responds to an insurance claim, or becomes involved in legal proceedings. These records may help establish what training was assigned, whether an employee completed it, and how the employee performed on related assessments.
For example, a fleet may need to demonstrate that drivers received instruction on vehicle inspections, accident prevention, or company safety procedures before an incident occurred.
Although training records cannot eliminate liability or guarantee a favorable legal outcome, they can help document the company’s safety education efforts. Maintaining organized records is an important part of a broader risk management program.
Can custom training be assigned to specific drivers, departments, or employee groups?
Yes. INFINITI Fleet Safety Training allows organizations to deliver relevant training to employees based on their responsibilities and training needs. Rather than assigning every course to the entire company, managers can target instruction to appropriate individuals or employee groups through the platform’s assignment tools.
For example, drivers may receive training about vehicle inspections or cargo securement, while dispatch employees may need instruction on communication procedures. Maintenance personnel and supervisors may have different training requirements.
Targeted assignments help employees focus on information that applies to their work. Managers can also monitor completion and maintain records showing which employees received specific training materials.
What types of quiz questions and acknowledgements can I create?
The updated INFINITI Quiz Management system provides several options for building assessments and collecting employee responses. Administrators can create custom answer choices or use Quick Add options such as True/False, Yes/No, Acknowledgement, and E-Signature.
These options allow companies to create knowledge-based questions or request confirmation that an employee has reviewed important information. For example, an acknowledgement may be useful when introducing an updated safety policy, while an E-Signature response can provide an additional confirmation method.
Quiz questions can also include images after they have been saved. Administrators can control question display order, making it easier to create organized assessments that match the training material.
How can custom training support insurance reviews and compliance audits?
Custom training helps trucking companies organize documentation that may be requested during insurance reviews, safety evaluations, or regulatory audits. By maintaining training materials and completion information within one platform, managers can more easily review their company’s employee education activities.
For example, an insurance representative may request information about driver safety training, accident prevention procedures, or remedial instruction following an incident. Organized records can help demonstrate how the company communicates safety expectations and monitors participation.
Training documentation does not automatically establish regulatory compliance or guarantee lower insurance premiums. However, it can support a company’s broader risk management efforts by providing evidence of structured training, employee participation, and ongoing safety education.
What happens when a driver does not understand or pass a training quiz?
When a driver struggles with a training quiz, the results can help managers identify information that requires additional explanation. Rather than treating an unsuccessful assessment as simply a failed assignment, companies can use the information to guide follow-up instruction.
A safety manager may review the material with the employee, provide additional coaching, or arrange further training on the subject. Depending on company procedures, relevant training may also be reassigned.
Quiz performance can reveal broader training needs. If multiple drivers misunderstand the same procedure, management may need to clarify the instructional material or provide additional education. This helps turn assessments into practical tools for improving employee understanding.
How can Custom Training Content help strengthen a trucking company’s safety culture?
A strong safety culture depends on clear expectations, consistent communication, and ongoing employee education. Custom Training Content helps trucking companies connect general safety principles with the actual procedures and challenges employees encounter during daily operations.
Instead of relying exclusively on broad industry training, fleets can create instruction addressing their own equipment, workplace conditions, company policies, and recurring safety concerns. This makes training more relevant to employees and easier to apply in real situations.
When combined with regular coaching and management involvement, structured training can reinforce accountability and safer decision-making. Completion records and quiz results also provide managers with information they can use to evaluate participation and identify opportunities for improvement.
