Movers & In-Home Delivery
Course Name: Human Trafficking
Length: 20:49
Description: Human trafficking is a local, as well as global, problem. Traffickers recruit and exploit their victims in urban, suburban and rural areas. Movers and in-home delivery professionals, by virtue of their access to homes and businesses, have a unique opportunity to witness trafficking taking place, most notably in residential brothels and homes used for exploitation, and then to report it. This course helps prepare drivers (and others) operating within the in-home delivery space with the information they need to help combat human trafficking. The training features the experience of a survivor-leader and her story of being trafficked by her mother out of their family home. Multiple times in the course of her exploitation, home movers and other service industry-related people came into her home and would have seen multiple red flags indicating human trafficking if they’d known what to look for. The film also includes guidance from law enforcement on what makes someone vulnerable to trafficking, additional red flags to look for, and, most importantly, the information needed to activate an investigation. The 21-minute film provides an understanding of what human trafficking is, how it might intersect with everyday jobs and the specific red flags drivers can be alert to as they move in and out of homes and businesses across North America.

Over-the-Road Trucking
Course Name: Human Trafficking

And every day, members of the trucking industry are in these same places … and in a position to make a difference. TAT’s original training video features the story of a survivor trafficked as a teen and how it was the trucker’s call to 911 that led to her recovery and the prosecution of her trafficker. The 23-minute film includes expert testimony from law enforcement on how this crime occurs and intersects with transportation, as well as first-hand accounts from truckers as they reflect on seeing potential trafficking situations. This course will educate and equip drivers to know the signs to look for and actions to take if/when they suspect trafficking is taking place.
